Am Sonntag 19. September wir sind zu Dessau gefahren
On Sunday September 19th, 2010 we went on a day trip to Dessau. It was about 3 hours train ride away. We met at the train station at 9am and I believe we switched trains 3 times? Dessau is famous for its college of architecture Bauhaus. It moved here in 1925 after it had been forced to close in Weimar. Many famous artists were lecturers in Dessau in the following years. We took a tour around the Bauhaus buildings and the houses of designers such as Kadinisky. I've always seen the iconic vertical lettering on the building in textbooks and it was amazing to be there for real!
